The W boson mass weighs in on the non-standard Higgs

We consider the implications of CDF collaboration high-precision measurement W boson mass on models with a non-standard Higgs. show that this requires an enhancement more than 5% in Higgs coupling to gauge bosons. This is naturally accommodated dynamical such as dilaton Higgs, Technicolor and glueball The needed composite scale between 2 3 TeV can also explain muon g-2 anomaly, well possible violations lepton flavour universality.

Standard Model fits are performed on the most recent leptonic and b quark Z decay data from LEP and SLD, and FERMILAB data on top quark production, to obtain m t and m H. Poor fits are obtained, with confidence levels ≃ 2%. Removing the b quark data improves markedly the quality of the fits and reduces the 95% CL upper limit on m H from 169 GeV to 110 GeV.
